Raw Denim Reflections

So I’ve been pretty obsessed with raw denim for the past few years and my favorites have been the Raleigh Denim 16oz Thin Fit and have experimented with them extensively in order to figure out what processes make the denim react in what way. I’ve posted pictures above of the current outcomes. Unfortunately my recent weight loss has made the middle and left unwearable. :( These have all been cut from the same White Oak Cone Mills denim and began with the same hand and color.

1. 2 years of wear: 6 months of wear without wash then constant machine washes and high heat tumble-drys.

2. 1 year of wear: 9 months of wear without “wash”; 2 washes, one consisting of a cold water soak with Woolite Dark with a hang-dry, and once getting caught in a rainstorm with a hang dry in the sun. These have customized crotch repair (from wearing too low on the waist) and cuff repair (dragging. didn’t cuff them high enough).

3. 1 month of wear: Zero washes or drys. I recently discovered that If you hang your jeans up on a clip hanger (by the edges of the waist) the creases on the thighs and the back of the knees set in MUCH quicker as apposed to just throwing them on the floor or folding them up.

Obviously I’m a little obsessive-compulsive about my jeans but I know I’m not the only one out there with a denim love affair :P
